The pizza luce Story
It all started in a small corner kitchen in Charlottesville, Virginia, where founder Marco Pellegrini dreamed of bringing authentic pizza luce — pizza made with "light" and love — to the United States. Inspired by his family's recipes passed down through three generations in Naples, Marco opened the very first Pizza luce location in 2004 with just four tables and an enormous wood-fired oven.
Today, pizzaluce has grown into one of the most beloved pizza destinations in Virginia, serving thousands of happy guests each month. We remain committed to the same handcrafted philosophy: fresh dough made daily, locally sourced toppings, and a rotating menu that celebrates seasonal ingredients.
